Mike Bartlett’s play 13 is next. I’m about to start rehearsals at Rose Bruford College for this amazing visionary political play. We’re performing at Stratford Circus in late February.
What a ride that was at Mountview! Working with sensational creative colleagues, including Sam Spencer Lane (choreographer), Michael England (MD) and Colin Mayes (designer), I had a blast directing the new showcase production for the 3rd year Musical Theatre performing students. Have a look at the pictures from the production in my Director section.
I’m pleased to say that Colin Blumenau at Production Exchange Management has agreed to represent me for writing, directing and acting work. He’s a great guy and a hard worker! He also happens to have directed my adaptation of Mansfield Park, so I know him as a very talented director too.
I’m delighted to say that the Buddies In Bad Times’ production of my play PIG picked up five ‘Dora’ nominations in Canada, including one for best new play. Bruce Dow won his for best actor, I’m happy to report.
Robert Cushman in the National Post had this to say (22.06.14)
The Doras have looked similarly outside the box in choosing as one of their five Best Play nominees Tim Luscombe’s PIG, which isn’t Canadian. It was however a world premiere, since in its native Britain its presentation of gay sado-masochism had apparently been considered too hot to handle. The resurgent Buddies in Bad Times picked it up and gave it a superb production. The competition includes only one orthodox play, Sean Dixon’s A God in Need of Help. The other contestants are The Gay Heritage Project (Buddies again), a collage of autobiographies; Winners and Losers, a semi-improvised cross-talk act, in which the talk got very cross; and Of Human Bondage, an adaptation of a novel. If I had a vote at this stage it would go to PIG, imperfect — indeed confusing — though it was”.

Dave Waters at Stagescripts has agreed to publish and market my 9-hander comedy Amateur Rites. It’s about an amateur theatre company mounting a production of my own adaptation of Northanger Abbey – with hilarious consequences!! It was a great deal of fun looking at it again to get it ready for publication. Dave thinks it’ll be a winner, especially for amateur companies. Check it out in my Writer section.
My production of We Will Rock You opened in Trieste in October. Libretto in Italian with songs in English. Read More to see more information on the Italian tour and videos.
My 4-hander adaptation of Henry James’ novella ‘TURN OF THE SCREW’ was successfully produced by Dermot McLaughlin, the Mercury Theatre Colchester and the
Grand Theatre Wolverhampton in 2018.
Having never written anything other than plays, I’ve spent much of the last two years writing a book!
More King! is the play I’m currently working on. It’s my response to Brexit and I hope to have a first draft ready by the autumn
