Bangkok is a comedy about slavery
On 10th June 2014, Roweena Mason, Kate Hodal, Chris Kelly, Felicity Lawrence and other UK journalists revealed that slavery in the Thai fishing industry is integral to the production of prawns available in leading global supermarkets including in most major US, British and European retailers, such as Tesco, Walmart, Costco and Carrefour.
Their six-month investigation discovered that slaves are being forced to work for no pay for years at a time, routinely in extremely violent
conditions, in the production of seafood consumed all over the world.
This play is a response to those facts.
Cast: 4 men.
The play is unpublished.
